GETTING STARTED

Getting started with Talk Home App is very easy. You can register an account online and when logged in you will have the ability to see additional account features, top up and send credit. Alternatively, once you have downloaded the app, have registered an account and received your pin you will be ready to top up, start making calls and use other services. Unless you have promotional credit, you will need to top up your balance to start making calls, send messages or credit.

You can top up your balance online by logging into your account or within the app directly by selecting the top up button in the app wheel or bottom of the screen. You can also enable Auto Top Up which is a hassle-free service that ensures you always have sufficient credit.

In order to make a call you will either need to have been granted free credit, for instance via a friend’s referral or promotion if available at the time and in your country. Alternatively, you will need to top up first if you have no balance in your account. Once your balance is topped up, you can then make a call by selecting the Call icon icon within the app. This takes you to the call homepage where you can select recents, contacts or dial a number from the keypad. Look for the Keypad-Icon icon to start the call once you are ready to do so. You can make a call directly from your recents and contacts pages too.

In order to send a message, you will either need to have been granted free credit, for instance via a friend’s referral or promotion if available at the time and in your country. Alternatively, you will need to top up first if you have no balance in your account. Once your balance is topped up, you can then send messages by going to the Messages-Icon icon within the app wheel. This takes you to the messages homepage where you can build a new message or interact with existing ones. To create a new message you’ll see a small Square-Compose-Message-Icon icon with a pencil in it – simply select this to start the process.

  • 2. Register

    Simply enter your mobile number and email address to create an account. To verify your mobile you will be sent an SMS message with a 4 digit pin number you will need to enter to complete your registration.

  • 3. Start enjoying your App

    For National and International calls.

    1. Simply click on the 'Call' button on the main dashboard of the App, dial the number you wish to call, click on the dial button to make a call and then select the 'Dial' button. We have already added £1 credit to your account to get you started.
    2. By clicking on the contacts button on the dialer screen you can select a contact saved on your mobile device to make a call.
    3. You will need access to Wi-Fi or a 3G/4G connection. If you select to make a call during a 3G/4G connection, please note that you may be charged by your network service provider.
    4. Talk Home App users can call you through the App or your mobile device.
  • 4. Messages

    You can now send messages.

    1. Simply click on the 'Message' button on the main dashboard of the App, click on the contacts button to select who you wish to send your message to, click on the 'Compose Message' button, enter the message you wish to write and click on the 'Send' button.
    2. You can then choose to send your message via SMS
    3. When you recommend the App and the App is successfully downloaded and used during a 30 day period, we will top up your account by a further £1.
  • 5. Rates

    1. Our rates are up to 75% cheaper than our competitors which means we bring you great savings with the added bonus that you are not tied into a 2 year contract or any contract period.
    2. You do not need to buy a sim from us. You can use the App as a separate calling and messaging method to your existing device, which may be in a contract with a network provider or on Pay As You Go. There are no restrictions.
    3. Many of our customers choose to use the Talk Home App to make calls and send messages as a primary method to save them money.
    4. We compare our rates daily to bring you the best rates without you having to shop around and we also bring you high quality voice calls to take the hassle out of buying.
    5. If you need to check the cost of a chargeable call or SMS then simply click on the 'Rates' button from the main dashboard, select the country you want to call, to see the cost of calls to landlines and mobiles or the cost of SMS.
  • 6. How to purchase

    If you wish to top up your account balance then you can do this in two ways:

    Top Up Vouchers: you can buy a Top Up voucher from a shop wherever you see the voucher signs

    Make a Payment: on an iOS device you can choose to top up your account by purchasing credit from iTunes. On an Android device or if you purchase credit through the www.talkhomeapp.com, website then you can purchase credit using a debit/credit card or paying through PayPal.

  • 7. Control your App Settings

    You can control the settings within your App to aid your Talk Home experience. Simply click on 'Settings' within the App to choose your desired settings.

    • Remember me: You can choose to enable whether you would like the App to remember your login details.
    • Show last used: You can choose to enable whether you would like to return to the last screen used before you closed down your App.
    • Alert me: You can choose to be notified if you are using data instead of a Wi-Fi prior to connecting a call.
    • Data usage: You can choose to enable whether you would like the App to remember your login details.
    • Balance notifications: You can choose to receive a notification after every call detailing the cost and length of the call and your remaining balance.
    • Privacy & security: You can choose to log out of your account and clear stored login details, phone and message history.
  • 8. Manage your Account

    You can manage your account by using the website or the App.

Registration is simple and provides users with increased site functionality as well as access to the Talk Home App services. By registering, you are also agreeing to the Talk Home App Terms and Conditions as well as our Privacy Policy.

SAFETY & SECURITY

The security of our users is very important to us and we know it’s very important to you. That’s why we only use industry leading technology partners so that your personal data and payments are both secure and safe. No transactional data or sensitive information is shared with any other third party.

All our payments go through an additional layer of security, known as an SCL (Secure Socket Layer), and this is one of the safest and most widely recognised security protocols available. We don’t store any credit or debit information as it’s all stored through secure payment processors, which are PCI compliant, and by all the main card payment providers such as VISA and Mastercard for instance.

A PIN is an additional security protocol used to verify it's actually you who is trying to log in to your Talk Home account. Whenever you log in, a PIN code is generated and sent to you via SMS which you can then use to authenticate your log in attempt.

TRANSFERS, PAYMENTS & CARD SETTINGS

You can manage your card settings online. You’ll need to have a registered account first and once successfully logged in you will then have access to a number of additional features. Within your account you’ll be able to manage your existing cards so that you can have a default card or remove a card if required.

Firstly, log into your online account and then go to card settings. Simply select remove or default for the card you wish to manage.

Our auto enable feature allows you to set up regular payments so that when you reach a certain set limit within your balance, it updates automatically. This allows your service to continue uninterrupted, saves time and you can always turn this on or off whenever you like so that you are always in total control of how you use the app/online account. You will normally find the auto-recharge button when you start the payment process, just above or around the top up amount you wish to select – or online it can be found after logging into your account under the Auto Top Up / Balance Alerts section.

Balance threshold allows you to receive alerts when your balance goes below a certain amount – you can also set what that amount might be and this is known as the threshold limit. You can do this both online and within the app.

Also, if you choose to enable auto-top up when making a payment, you can also set the threshold for any auto payments. This normally appears just above or around the top up amount within the payment process.

We have two ways for you to send credit. International top up allows you to send credit to any mobile phone worldwide whilst you can also send credit to other talk home app users via in-app transfer (only available in the app). In terms of how fast the service is, well this is normally very quick and happens within a few seconds of a successful transaction. However, sometimes there can be a slight delay on the operator’s side. You can view your transactional information online but you will need to log in first and then go to the payment history section.

We accept most trusted payment methods within the App and Online so if you want to pay by credit card or pay pal you can do so. You can also use Talk Home App approved vouchers that have been purchased at retail outlets.

Any payments you make using Talk Home App will appear titled "Nowtel Distribution Limited (NDL)" on any bank/card statements.

SETTINGS & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

You can view your balance and account details once you’ve registered and logged in online. From within the Talk Home app you can also select your account to view your balance.

When logged in online, any bundles that you have purchased can be found under the my bundles section. This also gives you the option to fast buy a previous purchase.

Log into your account online and go to the payment history sections to view your transactions.

You can manage your account online after logging in. My Account allows you to view your balance and your most recent transactions whilst My Profile allows you to view and manage some of the more personal information.

If the refer a friend promotion is available in your country or being promoted during a specific time, then it will appear in your app under Plus One.

If a refer a friend promotion is available in your country or being promoted during a specific time, then it will appear in your services homepage Home-Icon . The services home page can be found in the button bar at the bottom of the app.

You can manage your profile in two ways. Either select the avatar of profile image in the top left-hand side of the app or go to the settings Cog-Settings-Icon page and select my profile.

Simply go to the Cog-Settings-Icon in the top right-hand side of the app to view all your app settings.

TOP UP, INTERNATIONAL TOP UP & IN-APP TRANSFERS

You can top up your balance directly within the app and online. Whilst online you will need to log into your account first and select top up to proceed with adding credit to your balance.

Simply log into your account and go to Send International Top Up to start off the short, fast and simple process. It’s very easy to do.

International top up allows you to transfer credit to other pay as you go phones abroad. This can sometimes be also referred to as airtime or recharge. In simple terms, our international top up service allows you to add credit to another phone number so that it can be used to make calls, send sms or use data. It’s great for sending credit back home as a gift or for providing credit to those who may not have sufficient funds or be able to pay their own phone bills. In addition, use this service if you want to ensure your loved ones are safe and have the necessary credit on their phone to make calls if they need to.

We cover over 250 destinations through our calling and sms services and equally we have a wide coverage for International Top Up too. Unfortunately, in some cases this service might not be available in certain countries but please contact us directly via email on cs-app@talkhome.co.uk if you encounter any difficulties or would like any further clarification on this.

In-app transfers allow you to transfer credit from your balance over to other Talk Home App users. This can only be done directly within the Talk Home App and it’s a free service to use.

In-app transfers allow you to transfer credit to other Talk Home App users. They do have to be a Talk Home App user too for this to be possible and it can only be done within the app. Open the app, select Top up and then In App Transfer to start. Providing a contact is a Talk Home App user then you will be able to transfer credit to them.

  • Make sure you always use the latest app version of Talk Home App as we are always optimising services and creating new features for you!
  • Please always remember to log out of your online account – especially if you’re on another device or PC that isn’t your own. This helps ensue your account remains secure to you.
  • Ensure that you register an account so that you can benefit from all the additional features online and within the app. We strongly recommend you download the app as it has a lot more functionality and benefits, but if you prefer online then you can still send credit, top up and check some of your historical activity.
  • If you don’t have unlimited or cheap calls with your local operator, we suggest that you check your call settings within the app first to ensure that you are not being charged extra fees.
  • If you receive a call from a number that you don’t recognise or are unsure about, please don’t call it back. This ensures that you avoid any scam callers.
  • Keep an eye on your transactional history within the payment settings section of the app or online. We provide you with visibility on what you do so that you can keep on top of everything and have full clarity of your account.
  • Consider using auto-recharge/auto top up so that your balance always has credit available. It saves time and you can enable or disable this whenever you like and even set a limit so that if you go below a certain amount it tops you up automatically.
